THE VEIL Timeline
2081: Devon Allan Harrigan born in Bremerton, Oregon
2116: A terrorist group called The New Day demands the release of hundreds of deadly criminals held by governments across the globe, or they will attack with the world's deadliest weapon -- an anti-matter device that will open a black hole large enough to destroy the planet. When their demands are refused, they detonate the device, but instead of the expected apocalypse, it unleashes an entirely different horror upon the Earth: a tear in the very fabric of reality that exposes the human dimension with a parallel one now known as the Otherworld. No one is sure what the natural form of the Otherworlders might have been, but when they crossed over, they manifested as horrors from the human subconscious: monsters of every imaginable shape, size and power, including vampires, werewolves, demons and zombies. Anything dreamed in human nightmares overran the Earth, slaughtering millions and poisoning millions of others before the peoples of Earth, with assistance from magickal practitioners, managed to seal the Veil and subdue the most violent and bloodthirsty of the attackers. The war to contain the Otherworld lasts for over 60 years.
2116: Devon meets Beldam Riccia Milani and turns him into a vampire during a brief affair. For over a century, he leaves the police force and lives the decadant life of a most favored vampire fledgling
2263: Devon returns to police work, accepting an offer to assist the new Extranormal Investigations Unit of the FBI
2520: Devon joins the New Denver PD as lead Detective of their new EIU
2600: Helene Du Solaire born in New England
2610: Helene Chosen by High Mage Aedius Quintin as Maitri of the Interdimensional Order of Light, and taken to the Rocky Mountain Temple for education and training
2630: The Black Hole Killer strikes New Denver, killing 13 Otherworlders and kidnapping 7 others. Helene survives one such attack, and Devon is assigned to protect her. Together they seek to solve the case and stop the Samhain attack on the Veil.
