[p]Detective Devon Harrigan[/b] (vampire) - Vampire of the powerful Milani Clan,
made by Beldam Riccia Milani the year the Veil was raised. Lived the life of a
pampered vampire prince for almost a century and a half, then finally got fed
up, renounced vampire culture and mores, and returned to his roots as a cop.
First, he worked for the FBI's pilot squad of Otherworld creatures, called
Special Investigations, then moved to the country's first local police unit
dedicated to investigating Otherworldly crime, the Extranormal Investigations
Unit, where he has remained for the past two hundred years. He does not consume
human blood, as he doesn't like the effect it has on regular vampires.[/p]

[p]Detective Joe Calloway[/b] (werewolf) - Devon Harrigan's partner in the EIU[/p]
[b]
[p]Chief Alan Royston[/b] (human) - Chief of the New Denver City Police
Department[/p]
[b]
[p]Lady Helene Du Solaire[/b] (human)- Maitri, or High Priestess, of the
Interdimensional Order of Light, the organization who raised the Veil to protect
Earth from the Otherworld. She was thought to be the source of the Veil's power,
or at least symbolic of its protection, and prophesied to someday be the
instrumental in the ultimate fate of the world.[/p]

[p]Beldam Riccia Milani[/b] (vampire) - leader of the powerful Milani Clan, made
Detective Devon Harrigan into a vampire because she thought he "suited
her", like an expensive accessory.[/p]
[b]
[p]N'akin Dambouistn[/b] (vampire) - Head of security and household for the
Milani Clan of vampires[/p]
[b]
[p]Captain Jim Das[/b] (human, although Harrigan isn't convinced) - captain of
the New Denver City PD Extranormal Investigations Unit. He is known to be
prejudiced against Otherworlders.[/p]
[b]
[p]Alpha Bartholomew Elbert [/b](werewolf) - leader of the Grey Rock Pack and
uncle to Joe Calloway.[/p]
[b]
[p]High Mage Aedius Quintin[/b] (human) - Leader of the Interdimensional Order
of Light, one of the original creators of the Veil, Helene's mentor and foster
father. Considered one of the most powerful wizards in the dimension. Greatly
respected and honored by most humans.[/p]

[p]Mrs. Jessica "Jessie" Calloway[/b] (werewolf) - Wife of Detective
Joe Calloway, one of Det. Devon Harrigan's closest friends[/p]
